Since it’s start in 2012, the Cuba Infrastructure Scholarship Competition has:

Over 100 Students have worked toward the betterment of Cuba

The students have made up 25 teams

$36,000 of Scholarship Funds Have been Distributed

The CISC is a student design competition organized and sponsored by the Association of Cuban American Engineers (ACAE) and the Cuban-American Association of Civil Engineers (CAACE). It provides university student teams the opportunity to formulate and present a project of their choice on Cuba’s public infrastructure that relates to the engineering field in transportation, water resources, power, telecommunications or healthcare.

In the most recent challenge, a total of six teams from various Universities will participate. The event took place on Saturday, February 22, 2016 within the premises of the Institute of Cuban and Cuban American Studies, also known as Casa Bacardi, located at the University of Miami campus, 1511 Brescia Avenue in Coral Gables, Florida.
