Alessandra Monetti, P.E.

Alessandra is a Senior Professional Engineer at Miami-Dade Water & Sewer Department with 13 years of experience. Her experience includes design and permitting of water, wastewater, and storm water systems, government contracting and procurement, environmental compliance, construction management, and field inspections. At WASD, she is a project delivery team leader in the Utility Pipeline Engineering Division where she oversees a large number of capital improvement projects. Previously, Alessandra worked for Ardurra where she provided project management and engineering services to municipalities within South Florida and Puerto Rico. Prior to her experience with Ardurra, Alessandra worked for the Washington Aqueduct in Washington, DC with the US Army Corps of Engineers where she managed several improvements projects and conducted underground conduit inspections. Alessandra started off her career working for the Department of Defense in the Pentagon and later became a test engineer at the McKinley Climatic Laboratory in Eglin Air Force Base, FL.
Alessandra graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (2012) and holds a Master of Science Degree in Systems Engineering from The George Washington University (2014). She has held numerous Board positions in the Cuban American Association of Civil Engineers (C-AACE) board of directors (BOD) since 2018. She has served as Vice-Treasurer (2018-2019), Treasurer (2019-2021), and currently serves as Secretary (2021-2025). In 2021, Alessandra Monetti was awarded Young Engineer of the Year by the C-AACE. Alessandra is actively involved with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Miami-Dade Branch since 2018. She has served in many executive board positions and currently serves as Branch President-Elect.
