Recognizing excellence in civil engineering and projects that improve the quality of life in our communities.
Award Categories
The Cuban-American Association of Civil Engineers annually recognizes civil engineering projects completed during the previous calendar year that enhance the profession's image and contribute to our quality of life. Awards are divided into four categories based on total construction cost.

| Category I | Less than $10 million |
| Category II | Between $10 million and $25 million |
| Category III | Between $25 million and $100 million |
| Category IV — Mega Project | $100 million or greater |
Eligibility & Application Requirements
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Project focus | Civil engineering must be the project's main component. |
| Completion and operation | The project must have been constructed and the facility become operational within the previous calendar year. |
| Submission materials | A completed award application, a 300-word narrative, and five photographs. |
| Eligible recipient | The owner, owner's representative, engineer of record, or architectural engineer of record. |
| Final determination | The CAACE Board of Directors determines whether a project qualifies as a civil engineering project at its sole discretion. |
Qualifying Civil Engineering Projects
Eligible project types include new or remodeled buildings and structures; new or widened roadways; bridges; tunnels; water or sewer installations; water or sewer plant expansions; public works projects; and other projects relevant to the civil engineering industry.
