Engineering Heritage Transformed Into Art
Memories of Water is a commemorative sculpture created for the Cuban American Association of Civil Engineers. The design draws inspiration from an iconic work of Cuban civil engineering, transforming structural elements of that engineering legacy into an artistic composition of geometry, stone, metal, light and water.
Willy Castellanos
Guillermo “Willy” Castellanos is a Cuban-born artist, art historian, curator and self-taught photographer whose work explores the intersection of documentary photography and artistic intervention.
A graduate of the University of Havana, Castellanos has developed a body of work deeply connected to memory, migration, identity and the ways personal experiences intersect with larger historical narratives.
He is also the co-founder of the Aluna Art Foundation and Aluna Curatorial Collective, initiatives dedicated to creating meaningful dialogue between contemporary art and society. His work has been presented in exhibitions and institutions throughout the United States, Latin America and Europe.
