Jose L. Acosta, P.E., F. ASCE, is the Executive Vice President for Chen Moore and Associates, a multi-discipline engineering firm with offices throughout Florida. Acosta graduated from the University of Miami with Bachelor of Science degrees in Civil and Architectural Engineering. He also graduated from Auburn University with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Acosta is a Past President of CAACE and currently serves as a Director on the Board. Acosta was named a Fellow by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) in 2017 and was named the Engineer of the Year for Region 5 of ASCE in 2017. He served as the President of the Florida Section of ASCE for 2015-2016. Mr. Acosta is a graduate of Leadership Florida’s Cornerstone program and currently serves as its Chairman its Southeast Council. In 2015, Acosta was named by the South Florida Business Journal in 2015 as one of its top 40 professionals in South Florida under 40. South Florida Regional Competition for the Future City Competition since 2017. Mr. Acosta is happily married to is wife Sofia and is a proud father to three children (PJ, Lucia and Frances).
