Alessandra Monetti, P.E. is a Senior Professional Engineer at the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) with 13 years of professional engineering experience.
Her experience includes the design and permitting of water, wastewater, and stormwater systems, government contracting and procurement, environmental compliance, construction management, and field inspections.
At WASD, Ms. Monetti serves as a project delivery team leader in the Utility Pipeline Engineering Division, where she oversees a large portfolio of capital improvement projects.
Prior to joining Miami-Dade WASD, Alessandra worked for Ardurra, where she provided project management and engineering services to municipalities throughout South Florida and Puerto Rico.
Before her time at Ardurra, she worked for the Washington Aqueduct in Washington, D.C. with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. In that role, she managed several improvement projects and conducted underground conduit inspections.
Alessandra began her career working for the U.S. Department of Defense at the Pentagon and later became a Test Engineer at the McKinley Climatic Laboratory at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.
Ms. Monetti graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 2012. She also holds a Master of Science in Systems Engineering from The George Washington University, earned in 2014.
Alessandra has held numerous leadership positions on the Board of Directors of the Cuban American Association of Civil Engineers (CAACE) since 2018.
Her CAACE leadership roles have included Vice-Treasurer from 2018 to 2019, Treasurer from 2019 to 2021, and Secretary from 2021 to 2025.
In 2021, Ms. Monetti was recognized as CAACE Young Engineer of the Year in recognition of her professional achievements and service to the engineering community.
Alessandra has also been actively involved with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Miami-Dade Branch since 2018. She has served in multiple executive board positions and currently serves as Branch President-Elect.
