Daniel Iglesias, P.E.

Director

Daniel Iglesias, P.E. serves as District Six Secretary for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), leading the department's work in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties. He was appointed to this role in 2025.

A Miami native, Mr. Iglesias holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from the University of Miami. He spent seven years in the private sector working on roadway improvements, water and sewer systems, pump station design, and land development projects.

Mr. Iglesias joined FDOT in 2007 as a Roadway Designer/Project Engineer and later became a Project Manager, leading the Internal Design team on major projects including the I-75/Palmetto Expressway ramp widening and the Alton Road reconstruction.

He subsequently served as District Design Engineer, overseeing landmark efforts such as the I-395 Signature Bridge, the Krome Avenue Widening program, and the Golden Glades Interchange reconstruction. In 2020, he became Director of Transportation Development, managing a $3.2 billion work program.

Mr. Iglesias is a graduate of the Florida Engineering Leadership Institute (FELI) and the AASHTO Leadership Institute. His honors include FDOT Leader of the Year.

Mr. Iglesias and his wife, Nikki, have two children.
