Director
Jose L. Acosta, P.E., F. ASCE is the Executive Vice President for Chen Moore and Associates, a multi-discipline engineering firm with offices throughout Florida.
Mr. Acosta graduated from the University of Miami with Bachelor of Science degrees in Civil and Architectural Engineering. He also graduated from Auburn University with a Master's Degree in Business Administration.
Mr. Acosta is a Past President of the Cuban American Association of Civil Engineers (CAACE) and currently serves as a Director on the Board.
He was named a Fellow by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) in 2017 and was named the Engineer of the Year for Region 5 of ASCE in 2017. He also served as President of the Florida Section of ASCE for 2015-2016.
Mr. Acosta is a graduate of Leadership Florida's Cornerstone program and has served as Chairman of its Southeast Council. In 2015, he was named by the South Florida Business Journal as one of its top 40 professionals in South Florida under 40.
Mr. Acosta has also been involved with the South Florida Regional Competition for the Future City Competition since 2017.
Mr. Acosta is happily married to his wife Sofia and is a proud father of three children: PJ, Lucia, and Frances.
