Nelson Perez-Jacome, P.E.
Secretary
Nelson Perez-Jacome, P.E. is a Principal Engineer at Hazen and Sawyer, P.C. Throughout the course of his career, he has gained extensive knowledge of the procurement, design, permitting, and construction of large-scale water, wastewater, and stormwater projects.
Mr. Perez-Jacome has more than seven years of experience in the engineering industry, with much of his professional work focused on water resources projects.
Contributions to CAACE
Mr. Perez-Jacome has been involved with the Cuban American Association of Civil Engineers (CAACE) since his time at Florida International University (FIU).
He assisted in establishing the CAACE student chapter at FIU, which continues to collaborate with the organization on numerous strategic initiatives.
Mr. Perez-Jacome currently serves as Secretary of the Cuban American Association of Civil Engineers. His roles and contributions to the organization have included:
- Executive Director – Secretary
- Webmaster
- Communications Chair
In addition to these roles, Mr. Perez-Jacome contributes to numerous other aspects of the organization. His involvement includes assisting with event planning, contributing to the Cuba Infrastructure Scholarship Competition (CISC), hosting younger member socials, and working with the Board of Directors to advance the organization's strategic initiatives.
